The FIAT YAMAHA team finished in a 1-2 victory in the MotoGP round 13 at the San Marino Grand Prix on September 6th 2009.
Seen here are teammates #46 V. Rossi followed by #99 J.Lorenzo in the 1-2 finish.
From the pole positon start, V. Rossi was dropped down to the 4th position but as the race went on he was able to regain the lead by passing the competitors one by one.
Wanting to put the unfortunate early retirement in Indanapolis behind him, V. Rossi was sure to take the win in his home crowd at Misano in Italy.
V. Rossi was credited with his 11th win in Italy and his 6th win in this season.
Before completing the 1-2 finish, the beginning of the race dealt many participants a deal of trouble as there was contact between the riders in the first corner.
J. Lorenzo met contact with another rider but was able to still climb back to the top with his teammate.
Second place J. Lorenzo (left) and winner V.Rossi (right).
At the cost of a possible 25 points, the race at Indianapolis brought thechampionship point standings race within 30 points resulting with V. Rossi in first place and a second place teammate, J. Lorenzo.
With the season coming to an end in only four more races, we are expecting one of our supported riders to be the series champion.
Please join us in wishing the FIAT YAMAHA team supported by EXEDY the best of luck.
